MEASURING THE AGRARIAN-INDUSTRIAL POTENTIAL OF THE SOUTH CENTRAL REGION

Summary

The author tries to measure quantitatively the agrarian-industrial potential of the South Central region. For this purpose he has applied the gravitational method by using the formula

V_i  = ∑ⁿ_{i=1  Fi/Rij ,}

where V_i — potential of the i-object

F_i — volume of production (in physical indicators) in the i-object

R_ij — distance between the i-object giving agricultural output, and the j-object where all production capacities necessary for agricultural processing are located.

On the basis of tobacco, vegetable, fruit and wine grapes growing the agroindustrial regional potential has been calculated.
