Summary

1300-anniversary of Bulgarian state has regenerated and developed in a large scale Bulgaristics — scientific branches. A new science — Bulgaristics has been formed. Unfortunately in none of the national programs, or in the plan of the International Bulgaristics Congress has it been noted that Geography of Bulgaria refers to Bulgaristics as well.

Geography of Bulgaria is a typical science of Bulgaristics. The subject of its scientific research —natural environment is ‘the universal subject of labour and means of labour’ (Marx). It is to be most carefully studied. The geographic factor has regional and global economic, social and ecological aspect.

Geography of Bulgaria studies the influence of society on natural environment as well as the results of society-nature interaction—‘Labour is the Father of all the material wealth and land-its Mother’ (William Petty).

Geography of Bulgaria as a scientific branch of Bulgaristics holds out a lot of other oppertunities for the explanation of a number of phenomena and processes and the scientific argumentation of questions of vital importance such as motivation of branch and territorial structure of economy, the problems of patriotic and international education of youth, etc.
