CLASSIFICATION OF WATER EXCHANGE BETWEEN THE RIVER AND FRESH UNDERGROUND WATERS

Summary

Three types of water exchange can be distinguished in Bulgaria: those between the surface and fissure waters, between the surface and karst unconfined ground waters and betwlen the surface and underground waters. At the same time there are seven water exchange classes remarkable for their well expressed hydrological, hydrogeological and ecological peculiarities.
