REALIZATION OF COMPUTER-PROGRAMMED STUDY OF ECONOMIC GEOGRAPHY

Summary

The aim of the author is to show a way for the realization of computer-programmed study of economic geography.

Our theoretical premises are that education, when making use of personal mini-computers, takes place in a complicated control system with a rationalized controlling subsystem.

On the basis of criteria for the applicability of the teaching content to computer programming the respective lessons in economic geography for the eighth and the nineth classes are established. This is supported by an example of a complex teaching program — the lesson ‘Chemical Industry’ in the eighth class. For the aims of programming a reconstruction of the teaching content on the basis of a systematic and structural approach is done. The composing of the teaching program is related to the drawing of a logical scheme and the working out of the definite steps (information, operation and feedback), unified in the programmed material. The approbation of the computer-programmed lesson demonstrates the possibilities for its utilization in education.

On this basis the author arrives at the conclusion for the applicability of personal mini-computer in the teaching of economic geography, bearing in mind the specific role of the teacher.
