CHANGES OF THE SPECIALIZED STRUCTURE OF INDUSTRY IN BULGARIA UNDER THE CIRCUMSTANCES OF THE TECHNO-SCIENTIFIC PROGRESS

D. Donchev

Summary

The scientific and technological progress does not belong to the territorial factors and yet it influences positively the industrial specialized structure in Bulgaria. It contributes to the increase of labour productivity and of the economic effectiveness of production.

The techno-scientific advances are first introduced in the leading industrial branches such as engineering, chemical and rubber industry, power industry, ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy. Therefore, they are developing faster than the others. It is the scientific and technological progress that has led to considerable changes in the intra- and interspecialized structure of industry. Thus, to reach their optimum capacities, the engineering is to provide 40% – 43% of the gross industrial output of the country, the chemical industry about 10% – 12% and the power industry – 5% – 7%. Within the framework of engineering the manufacture of computers, organisational technique and automated machinery is going on at accelerated rates. In chemistry priority is given to the development of organic chemicals, in power industry – to the nuclear electricity generation, and in metallurgy – to the production of steel alloy, light and rare non-ferrous metals.
