SOME FEATURES IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE MORPHOLOGICAL STRUCTURE OF THE TRUN’S HOLLOW

D. Purlichev, P. Petrov

Summary

Geomorphological structure of the Trun’s hollow is a part of the Northern series of Kraještenski hollows. The development of the contemporary relief is closely connected with the initial primiocen surface peneplain, fragments of which are calculated of about 1700-1750.

As a result of the total epirogenic rising of the region the peneplain is faulted by some river networks which moulded the second denodatoonal erosive level of about 300 m lower. That level is connected with the lower erosive base. The fact the Trun’s hollow is very denivilated and faulted one can consider that it has begin its moulding over again on the peneplain relief. Then some smaller blocks at different degree lowered West-Eastward. The unstable situation of the surrounding mountain slopes coused deformation over the slopes which could be seen mainly in the older brakes.

Later the hollow has been filled with lake water, that causes two lower levels—800 and 900 m. Besades that now the hollow is filling up constantly with deluvial and aluvial material which does not permit river terraces to be formed on the hollow bottom.

A very important moment in the moulding of the Trun’s hollow is the alternating of comperatively sunked blocks at the different height on the bottom of the hollow. That feature of the morphological structure shows that an important part for the differentiated neotectonic movements of the blocks has the slopes of the bordering brake lines.
