Summary

Due to the wide tourist relations, established by the PR Bulgaria with most of the european countries, it is necessary to carry on a series of detailed scientific studies, concerning the conditions for the development of tourism in any one of them as well as the geography of their active and passive tourism.

The German Federal Republic turned to be Bulgaria’s most important partner amongst the westeuropean countries during the last years. In this study the author analyses the geographic features of the development and growth of westgerman passive tourism to the european countries and Bulgaria.

In the first part of this work the author analyses the tourist movements from the GFR to the most developed tourist countries in Europe. By using various inquiry’s data and statistical figures the author proves the quick development of westgerman passive tourism. He emphasizes the constantly increasing part of the countries, developing sea tourism, in the westgerman tourist market.

In the second part of this work the author makes a review of the quick growth of westgerman tourist movement towards Bulgaria in the period 1960—1970. It is analysed in connection with the length of the tourist season, the social and age structure of the tourists, the length of their stay and purpose of visit, the geographic distribution of the tourists etc.

In conclusion the author prognosticates the future part of Bulgaria in the westgerman tourist market, which is expected to be growing absolutely and relatively.
